College & Career Opportunities

The Young Scholars Academy is a highly selective partnership between local school districts and Northern Kentucky University. A limited number of scholars are selected to take a full-time college course load on NKU’s campus for their final two years of high school at an extremely discounted rate!

Scholars have the opportunity to earn 60 hours of college credit and/or an associate’s degree while working with a small cohort of motivated, like-minded scholars working toward degrees with a focus in STEM, integrative studies, supply chain, and computer science!

Interested students must have met the math benchmark on the ACT exam or equivalent college placement exam (KYOTE).

Students will remain eligible for all Bellevue High School programming.

The Ignite Institute’s focus is to provide education and experience in career fields that are in high demand within our community. Scholars will have access to over 20 dual credit courses through partnerships with local universities that will allow them to graduate from Ignite with an Associate’s Degree in select pathways. Located in Erlanger, KY, The Ignite Institute is operated by the Boone County school system.

Bellevue students who are enrolled in Ignite will remain eligible for all Bellevue High School programming.

Through NaviGo Scholars, students are selected by Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky businesses through a competitive application process.

NaviGo Scholars prepares students for the workforce and helps companies recruit quality talent. Students must be able to commit to attend two monthly meetings at corresponding locations (in-person or virtual). 

This volunteer program is an excellent way for students to build a resume for career and scholarship opportunities.

Junior and senior students may elect to participate in career and technical education programs through the Campbell County Area Technology Center (ATC). These programs lead to industry certifications and paid co-op placements.  

Students may choose from the following programs:

Two-Year Programs (beginning Junior Year)

•  welding
• electrical
• masonry
• carpentry
• auto body
• auto tech

One-Year Programs (open to Senior Students)

• Health Science
• Information Technology

All BHS Junior and Senior students who hold a minimum 2.0 GPA and are on pace with the BHS credit track are eligible to apply.

Bellevue High School offers several opportunities for students to simultaneously earn college and high school credits in a single course. Junior and Senior students who hold a minimum 3.0 GPA and are on pace with BHS credit/graduation track may apply. Sophomores who have reached at least one benchmark on the ACT are also eligible.

Students can take advantage of these degree-seeking courses through the following programs:

• Gateway Dual Credit Pathways at the GCTC Urban Campus in Covington, KY.
•  NKU School Based Scholars classes taught by Bellevue staff at Bellevue High School.
• NKU Dual Credit Courses offered full-time, on-campus at NKU.

Bellevue High School offers students the opportunity to participate in logistics or manufacturing programs, earning Career & Technical Education dual credits through Gateway CTC. These programs are available to senior level students only.

Logistics
The logistics course is conducted online during the fall semester, with an opportunity to participate in a paid internship during the spring semester.

Manufacturing
The manufacturing course is a full year program and will focus on skills such as programming, welding, fabrication, mechanics.
